Staple × PUMA Clyde Suede “Pigeon” owned by MrMoecast
Jeff Staple’s “Pigeon” theme has always been one tied to his NYC locale, a connection that works doubly on this release given the Puma Clyde’s strong connection with the early hip-hop scene in the Big Apple. Handcrafted in Japan, the colorblocking resurrects the muted grey and infrared scheme from Staple’s classic, riot-inducing Nike SB Dunk Low ‘Pigeon’ and even has that feathered icon embroidered in the proper place. These highly coveted kicks are a rare find, limited to 500 pairs worldwide, and adding to that the partnership between Puma and Staple drives the attractiveness for these joints through the roof. With Staple’s trademark Pigeon donning the heel, finishes off this elegant piece of footwear, as well as Staple’s signature guano stains on the insoles. This pair of Puma Clyde Suede x Pigeon released on Wednesday, April 17th, 2013 at Reed Space in NYC, is 1 of 50 released that particular day, differing from the global release dates of April 27th, 2013 and May 3rd, 2013, due to Jeff Staple himself, designer and founder of Staple brand and Reed Space, was at the location signing shoeboxes and varying parts of shoes upon request (this particular pair only has the box autographed by Staple). On April 27th, 2013, these shoes released in Japan and Korea at Mita, Undefeated Tokyo, VA, Styles, Kicks Lab, Atmos, Boston Club, Uptown Deluxe, and Kasina. The releases on May 3rd, 2013 are only at a handful of other locations: End Clothing (Newcastle upon Tyne , UK), Hanon (Scotland, UK), Sneakers-n-Stuff (Stockholm, Sweden), Solebox (Berlin, Germany), Colette (Paris, France), and Barney’s New York (the only other stateside seller, making this a strictly New York affair).
