Sneakerness asked some sneakerheads and influencers from all over the world 3 questions.
Here you go with Julia Schoierer a.k.a Sneakerqueen!
Why did you start collecting sneakers?
I never intentionally started collecting. I liked sneaker as a teenager and tried to buy the ones I liked, as far as my pocket money and little jobs after school enabled me to. The more I had, the more I found out about them and the more I wanted.
First sneaker you can remember being your favorite?
As a child I wore the Converse Pro Leather Lo with fat laces. I loved that super fluffy suede. Once things became more serious with me and sneakers it was the Nike Air Jordan IV Cement. Since it cost a fortune, I visited Foot Locker at least 6-8 times to keep it on hold, before I could finally put the money on the table. I still wear it though.
Which sneaker do you think is overhyped?
Each to their own. I’d rather see the kids wearing Jordans because of the hype, than Crocs or inner heels.
Nowadays when a sneaker is hyped I tend to not to go for it, though. I’d rather spend 150,-€ on a still wearable NIB vintage classic, than on any hypebeast.
